Local, Humanely raised Pork
Our hogs are born and raised right here on the farm — we do not buy feeder piglets. We’re building our herd with health and strong genetics in mind. While predominantly Berkshire, our animals also carry Duroc and Yorkshire bloodlines, which creates excellent marbling and rich flavor.
They rotate weekly through wooded pasture where they forage perennial plants and acorns, supplemented with a balanced non-GMO grain ration. Sunlight, fresh water, and room to roam are always a priority.

Whole & Half Pork Program
Bring home pasture-forward, forest-raised pork from Northern Farm & Flowers. We offer whole and half pigs processed to your specifications — nutrient-dense, humanely raised, and delivered to your door.
How the program works
- Choose a half or whole pig (many customers split a whole with a friend or family member to save freezer space).
- Place your order by emailing northernctfarm@gmail.com.
- We’ll schedule a time to review the custom cut sheet together so your processing instructions are exactly as you want. At that time we collect a deposit of $200.
- After your animal is weighed we’ll invoice you for the final balance (including the processing fee).
- We pick up your meat from the processor and deliver it to your home within a 25-mile
Weights, pricing & yield
- Typical hanging weight: ~200–225 lb.
- Price: $4.50 per hanging pound.
- Average retail yield after processing: 70–75% of hanging weight, depending on cut choices.
- Processing fees vary based on your selected cuts and packaging.
Delivery generally occurs 1–2 weeks after the pig reaches the processor, depending on the processor’s schedule and your custom requests.

Concerned about freezer space? For a whole pig, plan on 8-10 cubic feet of freezer space. That’s about four large grocery totes packed full. For reference, the average home refrigerator’s freezer compartment holds about 4.8 cubic feet.
